Italian club Napoli has turned down Galatasaray’s €65 million bid for a permanent transfer of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen joined the Turkish club on loan last September after a last-minute move to Chelsea in the Premier League fell through.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli rejected the €65 million offer, insisting on the full €75 million release clause. While Galatasaray is keen to keep Osimhen, Napoli has made it clear they will not offer any discounts.
Reports suggest that Galatasaray could complete the transfer for €75 million, while other clubs interested in Osimhen during the interim transfer window would have to pay an additional €6 million in compensation.
Initially, Osimhen’s release clause was set at €130 million, but it was lowered last summer when he signed a new deal with Napoli before his loan move to Galatasaray.
The Nigerian striker has been in outstanding form for the Turkish leaders, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists in 20 appearances since joining on loan.
