As excitement continues to grow ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off on December 21 in Morocco, the Confederation of African Football has issued official guidelines outlining items banned from all tournament stadiums.

The regulations, published on CAF’s website on Monday, are designed to enhance safety, maintain order, and ensure a smooth match-day experience for supporters throughout the competition.

Fans attending AFCON 2025 matches in Morocco will undergo security screening at stadium entrances and are strongly advised to avoid bringing prohibited items to the venues.

CAF urged supporters to leave the following items at home before heading to AFCON stadiums:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Illegal substances and drugs
  • Weapons and sharp objects
  • Fireworks and pyrotechnics
  • Glass bottles or containers
  • Flammable materials
  • Racist, violent, or discriminatory banners
  • Unauthorised political, religious, or commercial signs
  • Drones and animals
  • Large umbrellas and oversized hats
  • Professional cameras and recording equipment
  • Musical instruments and loud horns
  • Radio-emitting devices (except mobile phones)
  • Heavy or oversized bags

The football body stressed that compliance with these rules will help create a safe and enjoyable environment for all fans during Africa’s biggest football tournament.
