Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has expressed his ambition to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or, noting that individual glory is closely tied to team success.
The England captain, who has been in remarkable form, recently became the first player in Bundesliga history to score 11 goals in his first six league matches—an achievement that highlights his exceptional start to life in Germany.
Speaking with The Guardian, Kane shared his thoughts on the award:
“Of course, I’d love to win the Ballon d’Or. But it’s really a team trophy that goes to the best individual from a successful team,” he said. “Unless you win the biggest competitions, it’s likely going to a Champions League or World Cup winner.”
For Kane, the Ballon d’Or would represent the perfect blend of personal and collective achievement: “It would mean doing something great both individually and as a team. It would be almost the perfect season.”
The striker also believes that playing for Bayern Munich gives him the right platform to make that dream a reality: “The opportunity is there when you’re at a club like Bayern, always among the favourites for the Champions League. And with England, we’ll be among the favourites for the World Cup too.”
He ended on a hopeful note: “There’s still a long way to go, but if I keep performing and we have a strong season with both club and country, there’s definitely a chance.”
