Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has shared his battle with drug addiction, recalling how he nearly lost his life to an overdose while studying at the University of Lagos.
The Pity The Boy crooner revealed that his experimentation with illicit substances almost ended in tragedy. “One day, I took it and almost died,” he said, explaining that he immediately called his mother to book him a flight back to Abuja. That experience became a turning point, and though he tried drugs once more afterward, he eventually quit completely.
Speaking on the Tea With Tay podcast, the rapper admitted that despite being a bright student, drug use weighed heavily on his life. He expressed gratitude to God for helping him break free, noting that many others have not been as fortunate.
“I’m grateful because there are people who went into that life and never made it out. Some died from drug abuse, some committed suicide, and I’ve even seen couples, including a pregnant woman, struggling with addiction. It’s really terrible,” he said.
Odumodublvck urged young people to stay away from drugs, warning that the dangers of addiction are real and often fatal.
