Donald Trump says he is “not a big fan” of Pope Leo following his anti-war message

by Admin

Donald Trump said he is “not a big fan” of Pope Leo XIV after the pontiff called for peace.

Speaking to reporters in Maryland, Trump described the pope as liberal and criticised his stance on crime and global security. He also accused the Catholic leader of being soft on countries pursuing nuclear weapons.

The remarks came after Pope Leo, 70, urged world leaders to end violence, condemning war and the pursuit of power during a service at St. Peter’s Basilica. (Malay Mail)

Trump later repeated his criticism on social media, saying he does not support a pope who appears tolerant of Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.

Tensions between Washington and the Vatican have been growing, particularly over US policies on immigration and military actions abroad. Despite this, both sides have publicly downplayed reports of a serious rift.
