The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced the start of sales for application forms for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The announcement was contained in a photostatement signed by the Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, and shared on the Board’s official X handle on Tuesday night.

According to JAMB, applications are open to suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The Board added that eligibility is age-based, stating that only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are generally qualified to apply or be considered for admission.

However, the Board made provisions for underage candidates under strict conditions.

The release stated that candidates who will be below 16 years of age by September 30, 2026, must undergo an intensive evaluation to qualify for a waiver. Such candidates are required to score at least 80 per cent in each of UTME or A-Level, Post-UTME, SSCE, and the exceptional candidate assessment.

JAMB further explained that the UTME results of underage candidates will only be released after the completion of the full evaluation process.

On registration timelines, the Board announced that UTME registration, including for candidates from foreign countries, will run from Monday, January 26, 2026, to Saturday, February 28, 2026.
