Two Nigerian artists, Rema and Asake, have been included in former U.S. President Barack Obama’s favourite music of 2024.

Obama unveiled his list on Saturday, featuring Rema’s ‘Yayo’ and Asake’s ‘Active’ with Travis Scott.

South African artist Tyla also earned a spot with ‘Jump,’ featuring Gunna and Skillibeng. Nigerian-American singers Shaboozey and Jordan Adetunji appeared with ‘A Bar Song’ and ‘Kehlani,’ respectively.

Familiar names like Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, and Karol G also made the list with one track each.

Sharing the playlist on X, Obama wrote, “Here are my favorite songs from this year! Check them out if you’re looking to shake up your playlist – and let me know if there’s a song or artist I should make sure to listen to.”
