Nigerian hurdler Tobi Amusan has confirmed her participation in the upcoming Adidas Atlanta City Games, scheduled for May 17 at Piedmont Park.
The world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles made the announcement on social media, sharing her excitement about competing alongside other top athletes.
“Next Up: Adidas Atlanta City Games. I’ll be competing in the Women’s 100m Hurdles along with other amazing athletes from all over the world,” she wrote, encouraging fans to attend the event, which is free and open to the public.
The Adidas Atlanta City Games is a day-long track and field festival designed to bring fans closer to the action. It features a fan zone, athlete meet-and-greets, exclusive Adidas gear at Atlanta Track Club’s merchandise tents, and a festive atmosphere complete with food trucks.
The event will be broadcast live on NBC from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Nigerian time on Saturday, May 17, offering a global audience the chance to watch a range of competitions, including sprints, hurdles, middle-distance races, pole vault, and long jump.
Amusan’s announcement comes after her appearances at the Diamond League, where she recorded times of 12.66 seconds in Keqiao and 12.74 seconds in Xiamen, finishing fourth in both races that marked the start of her outdoor season.
