Controversial Nollywood actor and self-proclaimed cleric, Yul Edochie, has asserted that many Nigerian pastors were originally called to be native doctors but have abandoned their true calling.
He attributed this shift to the influence of Western ideologies and Nollywood, which he said have portrayed native doctors as “evil.”
Edochie urged Nigerian clerics to reconsider their paths, abandon Christianity if necessary, and embrace their divine calling as native doctors.
Sharing his perspective on Instagram, Edochie wrote, “Many pastors today were actually called to be native doctors, but they refuse to answer the call because Westerners brainwashed us into believing it’s evil. Nollywood has also contributed to making native doctors look evil.
“Being a native doctor is a divine calling from God Almighty. It means you have been chosen to help humanity. A true native doctor fights evil unless they choose to do otherwise—just as a pastor can decide to be evil.
“Answer your call. You may never find fulfilment in life if you don’t.”
