Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson unveiled his G-Unit Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana, on Thursday, marking a significant step in his ongoing expansion of film and TV projects.

“As someone deeply invested in the transformative power of music, film, and television, I’m thrilled to introduce the growth of my G-Unit Film & Television with the launch of G-Unit Studios here in Shreveport,” Jackson shared with Billboard.

He emphasized that the decision to establish G-Unit Studios in Shreveport is more than just a business move; it’s a commitment to nurturing talent, fostering opportunities, and cultivating a thriving creative community. Jackson sees Shreveport as a hub of inspiration and innovation.

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux also expressed his enthusiasm for G-Unit Studios choosing his city as its home. “We’re thrilled that G-Unit Studios will be establishing its presence in Shreveport,” he shared with Billboard. “The rich culture and abundant talent in this city provide the perfect foundation for this venture. We look forward to collaborating with Mr. Jackson and G-Unit Film & Television to bring captivating movies and entertainment to Shreveport and Caddo Parish.”

On the launch day of G-Unit Studios, Jackson was honored with his own dedicated day in Shreveport and was presented with a key to the city by Mayor Arceneaux.

According to KSLA, the in-house production facility is situated in the downtown area of the city. Reportedly, the rapper is already considering additional properties in Shreveport to further expand the studio.

Founded in 2003, G-Unit Film & Television Inc. began its journey with the documentary “50 Cent: The New Breed.” Since then, the company has been behind several notable TV productions, including the popular Starz series “Power” and its various spin-offs.

Last year, Jackson terminated G-Unit’s agreement with Starz after openly criticizing the network’s handling of their TV shows. In a now-deleted Instagram post, he wrote, “This is me packing my stuff, Starz. Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They renewed Hightown and Force is the highest rated show they have sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb shit I deal with over here.” Subsequently, G-Unit inked a non-exclusive broadcast direct deal with Fox.
