Loveth Helen Alo, 32, has been arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court for allegedly falsely claiming ownership of a five-bedroom duplex at WTC Estate, Enugu.
Enugu State Police Command spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, stated on Tuesday, March 11, that detectives from the Legal Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department arrested Alo on February 1, 2025, following a petition against her. The petition alleged that she had falsely claimed the house as hers.
Alo had testified at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, stating that God had blessed her with the house. Evangelist Ebuka Obi used her testimony as a reference while praying for his congregation. However, her claim was later debunked when she was spotted selling drinks in a small shop.
During interrogation, she admitted to giving a false testimony and insisted she acted alone.
Ndukwe revealed that Alo faces five charges, including obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by trying to sell the property.
She was granted bail, and the case has been adjourned to April 9, 2025, for further hearing.
