Popular Nollywood actress Nkechi Nweje has reportedly passed away on Friday after a brief illness.
Her death was confirmed on Saturday by movie producer Stanley Ajemba, also known as Stanley Ontop.
Sharing a tribute alongside her photo on Instagram, he wrote:
**”Nollywood is in tears as we lost one of our vibrant actresses, @nkechi.nweje, after a brief illness.
I couldn’t bring myself to post earlier because it felt like a dream. Ezigbo Nwanyi Onitsha.
Rest in peace, ma’am. She always called me her best friend, offering advice whenever we spoke. The last time we talked was during the Queenth saga—she simply said, ‘Ontop, stop.’ I’m still speechless.”**
Nkechi Nweje is survived by her husband and six children.
