Ahmed Musa Named New General Manager of Kano Pillars

by Admin

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced a complete overhaul of the management board of Kano Pillars Football Club, appointing former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa as the club’s new General Manager.

The appointment was revealed in an official statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa. The move follows the expiration of the previous board’s one-year tenure and is part of what Governor Yusuf described as a “strategic effort to reposition Kano Pillars for greater success.”

“This is not just a routine change,” the statement read. “It’s a purposeful step to combine football expertise with sound leadership. Bringing Ahmed Musa on board reflects our commitment to attracting investment, motivating players, and reigniting fan enthusiasm.”

Ahmed Musa, one of Nigeria’s most iconic footballers, has represented top clubs in the English Premier League, Russian Premier League, and Turkish Super Lig. He also captained the national team, the Super Eagles, and began his professional career with Kano Pillars—making the appointment even more meaningful to fans.

Reacting to his new role, Musa said:
“Kano Pillars has always been close to my heart. I’m honoured to take on this new responsibility. With the talent we have and the passion of our supporters, I believe we can build a stronger structure and compete for titles.”
