Victor Osimhen fired in a brilliant brace as the Super Eagles claimed a dominant 4-1 win over the Panthers of Gabon in extra time, securing their place in the next playoff round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Thursday at Stade Mohammed V in Rabat, Morocco.
After a cagey, goalless first half, Akor Adams opened the scoring early in the second half, pouncing on a defensive mistake to hand Nigeria the lead.
Gabon levelled the match four minutes from full time, pushing the tie into extra time.
Chidera Ejuke restored Nigeria’s advantage with a calm finish, before Osimhen took full control—striking twice to seal the emphatic victory and send the Super Eagles safely through.
