Jurgen Klopp’s final season in charge saw Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes take a hit with a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield, leaving them in third place.
Eberechi Eze’s 14th-minute goal stunned the Anfield crowd, marking Liverpool’s third consecutive poor result. Klopp’s team is now tied on 71 points with Arsenal in second, with two points separating them from leaders Manchester City.
The loss dealt a significant blow to Liverpool’s title aspirations. Despite efforts from Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, and Mohamed Salah, their inability to find the back of the net ultimately cost them.

Liverpool 0-1 Crystal Palace
Despite efforts from Jean-Philippe Mateta, including an attempt cleared off the line by Andy Robertson and another saved superbly by Alisson, Crystal Palace secured their win with Eberechi Eze’s early goal, moving them above Brentford to 14th place.
For Liverpool, the loss carries significant weight. Beginning the day in third, they missed a chance to reclaim the Premier League top spot and now risk falling further behind, which could end Klopp’s final season in disappointment.
Although Liverpool sought redemption after their defeat to Atalanta, Palace took control early on, with Eze challenging Alisson within the opening minute. Eze’s quick strike from Tyrick Mitchell’s cross gave Palace the lead, while Mateta nearly extended it, but Robertson’s goal-line clearance prevented a second goal.

While Liverpool created opportunities of their own, their first-half performance was disjointed. Wataru Endo’s shot hit the crossbar, and Luis Diaz’s attempt was stopped by Dean Henderson. Meanwhile, Palace posed a consistent counterattacking threat throughout the match.
