The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, conducted on Thursday, April 10.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board explained that candidates can check their results by sending “MOCKRESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number they used for registration.
JAMB clarified that the mock exam is optional and primarily aims to test new innovations each year, while also helping candidates become familiar with the computer-based test format ahead of the main UTME.
According to the board, 200,115 candidates initially expressed interest in the mock exam. After two candidates withdrew, 200,113 were officially registered. Of those, 73,844 candidates were absent on exam day, and 88 failed the biometric verification process.
A total of 126,181 candidates successfully took the test, with results for 115,735 already released. The remaining 10,446 results are still being processed and will be made available soon.
JAMB acknowledged that some candidates experienced delays during the mock exam and apologised for the inconvenience, attributing the issues to the introduction of new features intended to improve the main UTME.
The board encouraged candidates to continue supporting its reform efforts, noting that the mock exam remains a key tool for enhancing the UTME process and preparing students for the real exam environment.
“The mock examination allows the Board to trial new innovations while helping candidates gain confidence and familiarity with the testing format. Over time, this has helped identify challenges and improve overall efficiency,” the statement added.
