An alleged criminal in Kano joins the Nigeria Police Force months after being declared wanted by the State Commissioner

An alleged notorious criminal, Nasiru Abdullahi, popularly known as Chile Maidoki who was recently declared wanted, has joined the Nigeria Police Force as a police constabulary.

In trending pictures, Abdullahi was seen with a senior police officer at one of the Police Colleges and Training Schools.

He is among the 10,000 police constabularies undergoing six-month long training exercise to enhance community policing across the country.

In August, Abdullahi and two other notorious criminals were declared wanted by the Kano command with a bounty of N100,000 each.

However, he turned himself in at the Bompai headquarters of the command few days after.

A statement then by Abdullahi Kiyawa, the police spokesperson in Kano had said Abdullahi reported himself to the commissioner of police.

He was quoted as saying he slept “at burial ground yards in Kano city just to evade detection by security personnel”.

“One of the three notorious wanted criminals named Nasiru Abdullahi, popularly known as Chile Maidoki of Layin Falwaya Kurna Makabarta Quarters Kano has surrendered himself to the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, upon hearing the declaration of N100,000:00 bounty for his arrest,” the statement had read.

“This brings a total of 100 documented and profiled Repentant Criminals being that so far surrendered themselves to the police command.

“During the hide and seek regime the said repentant terror Chile Maidoki said to the police that he used to sleep at burial ground yard in Kano City just to evade detection by security personnel.

“He is now appealing to the Police and the good people of the State to forgive him, that he has repented and is now ready to work with the Police to promote sustainable peace and development in the State. He is therefore not to be arrested by the Police or stigmatised by members of the public.

“The remaining two with N100,000:00 bounty on each for clues or information leading to their arrests. They are: Abba Burakita of Dorayi Quarters and Hantar Daba of Kwanar Disu.

“Prospectus beneficiaries of these bounties with credible information on their whereabouts are required to contact the nearest Police Station.”
