Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk and pop star Billie Eilish have sparked a public feud after the singer criticised him on social media, prompting a sharp response from the Tesla CEO.
The clash began when Eilish posted on Instagram last week, accusing Musk of hoarding wealth and failing to use his fortune to address global crises. Her comments came amid reports that a new Tesla compensation package could make Musk the world’s first trillionaire. The Grammy-winning singer suggested Musk could use his resources to fight hunger, protect endangered wildlife, or help rebuild war-torn regions—but instead, she argued, he chose not to.
Musk responded on X, reacting to a screenshot of Eilish’s posts with a single-line jab: “She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.”

Eilish has been vocal about condemning extreme wealth. At last month’s WSJ Innovator Awards, attended by some of the world’s richest figures, including Mark Zuckerberg, she questioned the existence of billionaires, arguing that no one should hold so much money. The 22-year-old recently pledged over $11 million from her ongoing tour to support climate initiatives and humanitarian causes.
