Singer Davido has addressed Spyro’s claims that his associate, Ubi Franklin, used his name to deceive him.
Spyro alleged in a recent interview that Franklin tricked him into performing at a birthday party in Ghana, falsely claiming the request came from Davido. He also accused Franklin of refusing to pay the agreed $5,000 fee for the performance.
In response, Franklin defended himself, stating that he withheld the payment because Spyro also owed him money. According to Franklin, Spyro was supposed to pay him 10 per cent for facilitating a recent car purchase. He claimed he deducted the $5,000 from the outstanding amount, adding that Spyro still owes him N2 million.
The back-and-forth accusations sparked mixed reactions, with Davido’s name being dragged into the controversy.
Reacting to the situation, Davido apologised for his name being mentioned in the dispute. Sharing a video of Ubi Franklin’s response on his Instagram story, Davido simply wrote, “Pls, I’m sorry.”
