Fame doesn’t excite me, I just want a simple life – Osimhen

by Admin

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has spoken candidly about the personal challenges that come with fame, describing it as a limitation on his freedom and ability to live normally.

In an interview shared on Monday via X by Instablog, the Napoli star recalled a heartfelt moment he missed due to public attention—his daughter’s first outing.

“I remember when I had my daughter and wanted to take her somewhere with my family during their visit to Italy. I couldn’t do much with her on that first outing. I had to hand her to my sister while I was stuck taking pictures, making videos—everything,” he shared.

Reflecting on the downside of stardom, Osimhen admitted, “Fame is boring. Sometimes you want to step outside, but you can’t do a lot of things.”

Despite being globally recognised, the 26-year-old emphasised his longing for a grounded life surrounded by familiar faces.
“I just like to be around these people. I like to stay close to them. This is how I was born, so for me, it’s just natural,” he said.

He also credited his family for helping him stay focused, highlighting the crucial role his older brother plays.
“One of the few lessons I’ve learned is the value of guidance—my elder brother is always there to show me the way, and that’s really important.”

Even with his fame, Osimhen said he finds peace among everyday people, as long as he feels safe.
“If I have my security and they’re strapped, I’m good. I can be among the people. I don’t care. This is my life. This is how I live,” he added.
