Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray are ready to tempt Victor Osimhen with a €3m pay rise—bringing his wages to €15m per year—in a bold move to make his stay in Istanbul permanent, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Nigerian forward, 26, has been earning around €12m annually during his loan from Napoli. However, according to Il Napolista, the club is now prepared to offer a record-breaking €15m salary—roughly €288,000 per week—marking the most lucrative deal in both Osimhen’s career and Galatasaray’s history.
Osimhen has enjoyed a phenomenal season since arriving on loan, defying early expectations with 37 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances. He was pivotal in helping Galatasaray secure a historic league and cup double, becoming a fan favourite along the way.
His final appearance of the season saw him head in Galatasaray’s second goal during a 2-0 win over Istanbul Başakşehir, capping off the campaign with his 37th strike.
Club vice-president Erden Timur Kavukcu confirmed earlier this month that discussions were already underway for a permanent deal. “We told Osimhen in January, ‘We want you very much… we’re ready to get his transfer and pay the salaries he would earn in Europe,’” he said.
Galatasaray supporters have joined the push to keep the Nigerian, launching the viral #staywithus campaign—including a plea displayed on a Times Square billboard.
Head coach Okan Buruk also weighed in, acknowledging the uncertainty while remaining hopeful: “The player will decide about his future… but we are hopeful that he will stay.”
Still, Galatasaray face a major hurdle. Napoli are demanding €70m for Osimhen, and unless the Turkish side can match that valuation, a permanent deal remains in question.
For now, the striker is expected to return to Naples, though his next move is yet to be decided. What’s certain is that his unforgettable season has left an indelible mark on Turkish football and Galatasaray’s history.
