Former US President Donald Trump pondered whether his late father, Fred Trump, made it to Heaven as he imagined how his father might react to the ongoing criminal investigations against him.
Speaking to a packed crowd of around 20,000 at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, October 27, Trump lamented that he faces more investigations than the “great late Alphonse Capone.”

“My father is looking down on me right now… he was a tough guy. But he was legit. And I know my mother’s in heaven. I’m not 100% sure about my father, but it’s close,” Trump said, drawing laughs from the energized crowd.
“They’ve weaponized the Justice Department against their political opponent,” the former US president added.
“But he’s looking down at me right now, saying, ‘How the hell did this happen to my son? He’s not a bad person.'”
Fred Trump, Donald Trump’s father, passed away from pneumonia on June 25, 1999, at age 93. A successful real estate developer in New York City, he left a lasting impact on the industry and his family.
Donald Trump faces charges in four criminal cases, including allegations of election interference, mishandling classified documents, and paying “hush money” to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. In May, he became the first former president convicted of felony charges, with a guilty verdict on 34 counts in the “hush money” case. Sentencing is set for after the upcoming election.
Additionally, Trump is involved in multiple civil cases, including a recent order to pay $454 million in a New York civil fraud trial and $5 million to columnist E. Jean Carroll in a civil defamation suit. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
