In a video shared on social media, Peller apologised to the public, saying: “I am sorry, Nigerians. Please, I’m sorry. I will never do that again. I’m very sorry, please. For now, I am on medication. Once I am done with my medication, I will be online.”
The incident reportedly comes after Peller’s recent breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis, who cited his struggles with emotional control as a key reason for ending the relationship.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, Peller was arrested after his actions were seen as a deliberate attempt at self-harm and a serious risk to other road users. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, when Peller allegedly drove dangerously while livestreaming on social media, causing a serious accident on the Lekki–Epe Expressway in Lagos.
Authorities have handed the case over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a full investigation, with Peller expected to be arraigned in court once inquiries are complete.
Police Commissioner Olohundare Jimoh also warned social media influencers against promoting or performing reckless acts online, stressing that such behaviour will face strict consequences.
