Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous memoir reveals intimate details about her relationship with Michael Jackson.
Presley and Jackson first met in their youth, but it wasn’t until 1994 that they became romantically involved. At the time, Presley was still married to her first husband, Danny Keough. Their marriage ended after Jackson professed his love for her during a trip to Las Vegas.
“Michael said, ‘I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m completely in love with you. I want us to get married and for you to have my children,’” Presley writes in *From Here to the Great Unknown*, released on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Initially speechless, Presley eventually responded, “I’m really flattered, I can’t even talk,” before realizing she had fallen in love with him too.
Following this, Presley and Keough split amicably, and she began a relationship with Jackson. During their time together, Jackson confided that he was still a virgin.
“He told me he was still a virgin,” Presley shares. “He mentioned he had kissed Tatum O’Neal and had a connection with Brooke Shields, but nothing physical apart from a kiss. He also said Madonna had tried to hook up with him, but nothing happened. I was terrified because I didn’t want to make the wrong move.”
In May 1994, just weeks after her divorce from Keough, Presley and Jackson were married. Presley was 25, and Jackson was 35. Their marriage lasted over two years before their divorce was finalized in August 1996.
Jackson passed away in 2009 at the age of 50 due to cardiac arrest. Presley died in January 2023 at age 54, following complications from bariatric surgery. After her death, her daughter, actress Riley Keough, completed the memoir by using tapes Presley had left behind.
