The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed it has withheld the results of 39,834 candidates from the recently concluded 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), out of over 1.9 million applicants.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made the announcement on Friday, May 9, during the official release of the 2025 UTME results. He cited examination irregularities as the reason behind the withheld results.
Prof. Oloyede also revealed that 41,000 underage candidates registered for the exam, with 467 achieving the minimum required score. Among them, 50 were found to be involved in cheating.
In addition, 80 suspects across Nigeria are currently being interrogated in connection with examination fraud.
