Jonathan airlifted to Nigeria after being caught in the Guinea-Bissau coup

by Admin

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has safely arrived in Abuja after being evacuated from Guinea-Bissau following a military coup. He touched down at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Thursday evening, November 27.

Jonathan, who led the West African Elders Forum Election Observation Mission, had been in the country monitoring last Sunday’s presidential and legislative elections before the military announced it had taken control. His safety had been a major concern for many Nigerians.

Thankfully, he was airlifted out of the country this evening.
