Manchester City have agreed a £46.3m (€55m) deal with AC Milan to sign Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.
The 25-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Premier League champions. According to Fabrizio Romano, a verbal agreement is now in place after personal terms were finalised earlier this week. Only minor formalities remain before the transfer is completed.
Reijnders enjoyed a standout season with Milan, registering 15 goals and five assists in 54 appearances across all competitions. Despite Milan finishing eighth in Serie A, his performances earned him the Serie A Midfielder of the Season award.
Meanwhile, City are also in talks to sign Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri and Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki.
Cherki, 21, is valued at around £35m after scoring 12 goals in 44 games this season, including a brace against Manchester United in the Europa League. He also helped France’s U23 team secure silver at the last Olympic Games and recently received his first senior national team call-up ahead of the UEFA Nations League semi-final against Spain.
City are pushing to complete the Ait-Nouri deal — reportedly worth £40m — before the Club World Cup. The 23-year-old left-back has been closely monitored by City scouts over the past year as Guardiola looks to bolster his defensive options.
