Former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins, former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen are among the celebrities set to take part in the second edition of the Troost-Ekong Foundation charity football match, scheduled to take place in Lagos next month.
The event, themed “Play for Purpose,” will be held on Sunday, June 22, at the Onikan Stadium, Mobalaji Johnson Arena, Lagos. Proceeds will support the foundation’s youth development programmes in education, healthcare, and grassroots sports.
Super Eagles captain and founder of the foundation, William Troost-Ekong, shared his excitement about bringing the event to Lagos:
“I’m super excited to bring this year’s TEF Charity Match to Lagos. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to put together a great game and show in order to raise funds for the foundation’s planned projects.”
Other confirmed football stars include Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, Raphael Onyedika, Samuel Chukwueze, Carl Ikeme, Victor Boniface, Stanley Nwabali, Alex Song, and Theo Attom. They will be joined by popular entertainment figures such as comedian Brodda Shaggi, rapper Odumodublvck, social media influencer Kelechi AFC, and content creator Gilmore. Organisers have promised more surprise guests on the day of the match.

The event, set to kick off at 1 pm, has confirmed sponsors including NoOnes, Puma, and Power Horse. Tickets can be purchased via the tix.africa platform.
This charity match marks the second edition of the Troost-Ekong Foundation event, which aims to harness the popularity of sports and entertainment personalities to raise funds and awareness for youth development initiatives across Nigeria.
