American rapper Meek Mill has expressed interest in purchasing TikTok amid the app’s potential ban in the United States.
This comes after President Joe Biden, in April 2024, signed a law requiring TikTok’s Chinese parent company to either sell the platform or shut it down by January 19, 2025.
In December, TikTok challenged the law at the US Supreme Court, shortly after its CEO, Shou Zi Chew, met with President-elect Donald Trump. During a press conference, Trump stated he had a “soft spot” for TikTok and mentioned that his administration would consider the app’s future, including the possibility of a ban.
As ByteDance awaits the Supreme Court’s decision, Meek Mill has publicly announced his interest in acquiring the platform.
“Sell TikTok to me,” he posted on X, adding, “If they cut off TikTok, we’re going to X and Fanbase.”
