Nigeria, host nation in Group A of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup draw.[FULL LIST]

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024 groups have been revealed in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, marking the country’s first time hosting a FIFA tournament. Scheduled from October 16 to November 3, 2024, the event was announced in a statement released on a late Saturday and obtained by PUNCH Online from the FIFA website.

The host nation, Dominican Republic, will be joined by Kenya and Zambia in Groups C and D respectively, with Flamingos also participating. Spain, the winners of the 2022 tournament, made history by holding the U-17, U20, and senior women’s titles simultaneously. The upcoming competition will see 16 teams vying for the trophy, with former champions DPR Korea, Korea Republic, France, Japan, and Spain setting the standard.

Each team now knows their group-stage rivals and tournament progression, with the final slated for November 3 in the capital city. The four groups have been finalized as follows:

Group A:
Dominican Republic, Ecuador, New Zealand, Nigeria

Group B:
Spain, USA, Korea Republic, Colombia

Group C:
Korea DPR, Mexico, Kenya, England

Group D:
Japan, Poland, Brazil, Zambia

The Dominican Republic, buoyed by their rising football scene, will make their debut appearance at a FIFA women’s tournament, signaling a new era in their footballing journey. Tickets for the U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024 will be available for purchase starting August 27.
