The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has assured Corps Members that their monthly allowance will increase to ₦77,000 starting in March 2025.
During an interactive session on Thursday, NYSC Director General Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu confirmed that the payment will begin as scheduled.
Speaking at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in Abuja, he addressed concerns over the delayed implementation, reaffirming the commitment of NYSC and the Federal Government to Corps Members’ welfare.
“Starting in March, you will receive Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira as your monthly allowance. NYSC maintains efficient records, and I assure you that your payments will be made. The nation and the Scheme appreciate you,” he stated.
He urged Corps Members to remain patient and focused on their service, praising the vision of NYSC’s founding fathers and calling for continued support from stakeholders.
Brigadier General Nafiu highlighted NYSC’s role in fostering national unity and instilling values of patriotism and teamwork. He expressed gratitude for the dedication of Corps Members and reiterated the nation’s appreciation for their contributions.
At the Garki Zone, Corps Member Zaka Deborah Alheri, with call number FC/24A/5831, spoke on behalf of her colleagues, thanking the Director General for his efforts in ensuring the allowance increase would take effect.
