Former Super Eagles midfielder Christian Obodo has urged Victor Osimhen to find a middle ground in his next career move, as transfer rumours continue to swirl.
In an interview with Brila.net on Tuesday, Obodo noted that the Napoli striker’s hefty release clause and wage demands have made top European clubs hesitant.
“Osimhen still wants to play European football and achieve great things, but the clause Napoli placed on him, along with his salary, is scaring clubs off. They don’t want to make a move that could backfire,” Obodo said.

Obodo also criticised the perception gap between Nigerian players and their South American counterparts.
“Nigeria doesn’t package their players well,” he said. “If Osimhen were Brazilian, top European clubs would have signed him by now. The way some Nigerians speak about their own players isn’t fair.”
The former Udinese midfielder advised Osimhen to carefully consider his next step.
“For me, it’s up to Osimhen to make a compromise—whether to stay in Europe or go to Al Hilal for the money. Whatever he decides, we can only hope it’s not the wrong move,” Obodo said.
Osimhen, 26, recently wrapped up a loan spell at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals in 41 games.
The Turkish club is reportedly eager to sign him permanently.
Meanwhile, the striker—who previously turned down a move to Saudi side Al Hilal—is also on the radar of Juventus, Arsenal, Chelsea, and reportedly Manchester United, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
