Osimhen Seeking £200k Weekly, Not £300k – Fabrizio

by Admin

Victor Osimhen is reportedly willing to accept a weekly wage just below £200,000 if he joins Manchester United, countering earlier claims that the Nigerian striker was demanding £300,000 per week. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano clarified the situation, stating that such reports are inaccurate.

Amid concerns that INEOS, Manchester United’s ownership group, is hesitant to approve high wages as part of efforts to reduce the club’s payroll, Romano told GIVEMESPORT that Osimhen’s demands are far more modest.

“He just wants his current salary to be matched — around €12 million net per year (£10.2 million). It’s the same figure he asked for a year ago,” Romano explained.

This development could ease United’s path to signing the 26-year-old, especially with players like Mason Mount already earning £250,000 per week at Old Trafford.

Osimhen’s next move remains uncertain as he prepares to leave Napoli following a standout loan season at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals and recorded eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Despite interest from multiple top clubs, Napoli are reportedly leaning towards a deal with Liverpool that could involve Darwin Núñez in a swap. However, Osimhen is believed to favour a move to Juventus, drawn by their sporting project over other offers on the table.

He recently turned down a staggering £30 million-per-year offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, signalling his desire to stay in Europe.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes Osimhen’s decision could be a sign he’s hoping for a move to Old Trafford.
“It looks like he’s turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Manchester United. I don’t know if they’re going to come though — that’s the problem,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

United remain in the market for a proven centre-forward, with Rasmus Højlund struggling for consistency and Joshua Zirkzee operating more effectively in a deeper role.

While Juventus have intensified their interest, they may face obstacles due to Osimhen’s €75 million release clause — a clause reportedly only applicable to clubs outside of Italy. Any Italian side would need to negotiate directly with Napoli.

Galatasaray, fresh off a league and cup double, are also keen to sign him permanently following his successful loan spell.

Since joining Napoli in 2020, Osimhen has scored 76 goals and registered 18 assists in 133 appearances, playing a pivotal role in their 2022/23 Serie A title-winning campaign. His current contract expires next summer.
