Russia launched 315 drones at Ukraine overnight in what President Volodymyr Zelensky called “one of the largest” drone attacks on Kyiv. In Odesa, local officials said a maternity ward was among the buildings hit.
Seven districts in Kyiv suffered damage, with fires breaking out in residential buildings, cars, warehouses, and high-rise apartments. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city’s military administration, described it as “a tough night for all of us.” According to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, four people were wounded in the capital.
“Today was one of the largest attacks on Kyiv,” Zelensky said. “Russian missile and Shahed strikes drown out the efforts of the United States and others around the world to force Russia into peace.”

Air raid sirens blared for hours as explosions echoed across the city, with air defense systems engaged throughout the night.
In Odesa, at least two men were killed and nine others injured. A maternity ward was among the buildings hit, according to Andriy Yermak, Chief of the Presidential Staff. Video footage captured a hospital worker sweeping up shards of glass from the damaged ward.
Residents recounted the terrifying experience. Violetta, 78, said her garage and apartment roof were destroyed. “Thank God I’m not hurt,” she said. “My neighbor, a boy, was wounded by flying glass and needed stitches.”
Lyudmila, 60, added, “It’s very scary because it’s so close. Drones were flying around, banging and banging. In four years, this is the first time we’ve been hit. It’s very hard mentally.”
Ukraine’s Air Force also reported that Russia launched two KN-23 ballistic missiles and five Iskander-K cruise missiles during the assault.
The strikes followed Russia’s largest drone attack on Monday, when 479 UAVs were launched in a single night—marking the second consecutive weekend of record-breaking drone assaults.
