by Admin

Nigerian hurdler Tobi Amusan clinched victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the African Games in Ghana, clocking an impressive 12.89 seconds.

Despite a false-start scare, officials issued her a yellow card instead of disqualification.

This marks her third consecutive African Games championship.

Amusan beat Madagascar’s Sidonie Fiadanantsoa, who finished second in 13.19 seconds.

Fellow Nigerian Faith Osamuyi narrowly missed the podium, coming fourth with 13.77 seconds.

Amusan also holds the world record in the 100m hurdles, set at 12.12 seconds in Eugene, Oregon, in 2022.

She is the first Nigerian world champion and record holder in athletics, achieving gold at the 2022 World Championships.

Amusan has dominated at both Commonwealth and African levels, securing multiple titles and records.
