Trump threatens prosecution of election officials if he wins presidency

by Admin

Former US President Donald Trump has threatened prosecution and “long-term prison sentences” for election officials and political operatives he suggests might cheat in the 2024 election, should he win the presidency in November.

Trump, who has repeatedly claimed that Democrats engaged in fraudulent activities during the 2020 election, stated that he, along with attorneys and legal scholars, are “watching the Sanctity of the 2024 Presidential Election very closely.”

“WHEN I WIN,” Trump wrote on his social network, Truth Social, and on X, “those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law.”

These threats come as early voting is set to begin in several American states. Trump has consistently indicated that he would use the justice system to target his political opponents if he is re-elected. These assertions began after his first indictment in the Manhattan hush money case more than a year ago.

Trump added, “I know, better than most, the rampant Cheating and Skullduggery that took place by the Democrats in the 2020 Presidential Election. It was a Disgrace to our Nation!”

“WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, including long-term prison sentences, to ensure this Depravity of Justice does not happen again,” he wrote. “Please be aware that this legal exposure extends to Lawyers, Political Operatives, Donors, Illegal Voters, and Corrupt Election Officials. Those involved in unscrupulous behaviour will be sought out, caught, and prosecuted at levels, unfortunately, never seen before in our Country,” he added.

Trump continues to face charges related to election interference for his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results, including a four-count indictment in his federal case. Meanwhile, a separate election interference case against him in Fulton County, Georgia, has been indefinitely paused.
