The United Arab Emirates has introduced stricter entry requirements for Nigerian travellers and has suspended all transit visa applications.
Travel agents confirmed the development on Tuesday.
According to updated directives from Dubai immigration, Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 45 are no longer eligible to apply for tourist visas unless they are accompanied.
Applicants aged 45 and above must now provide a personal six-month bank statement reflecting a minimum monthly balance of \$10,000 (or its naira equivalent) in order to qualify.
“Kindly note that the above points must be taken into consideration before sending your applications with other existing documents such as hotel reservation, data page, etc,” the notice stated.
