Feyenoord Rotterdam has officially appointed Robin van Persie as the club’s new head coach, ushering in a new era for the Eredivisie side.

“The next chapter starts here. Robin van Persie, welcome home again,” Feyenoord announced in a statement on Sunday.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the former Netherlands international has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027.

Van Persie, who had a decorated playing career with Feyenoord, Arsenal, and Manchester United, now steps into management at De Kuip. Romano first reported the news last Friday, also confirming that René Hake will join Van Persie’s coaching staff.

“Robin van Persie signs today as Feyenoord’s new head coach until June 2027. Former Erik ten Hag assistant René Hake will join his staff too,” Romano posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Hake, previously an assistant to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, brings valuable experience to Van Persie’s backroom team.
