A woman in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has revealed why she joined the “End Bad Governance in Nigeria” protest despite being a nursing mother.
Carrying her infant, she joined other protesters at Eagle Square in Abuja.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, shared that her husband was killed by bandits in Katsina State, motivating her to participate in the protest.
She added that police were shooting tear gas at protesters gathered at Eagle Square and questioned if they intended to harm her baby.
“I came to protest the hardship in Nigeria, and the police are shooting tear gas at us. Do they also want to kill my baby? People cannot eat. Things are hard,” she said, according to TheCable.
