Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres failed to report for pre-season training on Saturday, intensifying speculation around his potential move to Arsenal.
The 27-year-old, who was expected to return by 5 p.m. local time, was notably absent, with reports suggesting he’s determined to push through a summer switch to the Premier League side—even if it means forcing the move.
According to The Guardian, Sporting are now weighing internal disciplinary action as they await a valid explanation for Gyökeres’ no-show, such as medical reasons, an approved extension, or a family emergency.
Arsenal have reportedly tabled a €65 million offer, including €15 million in add-ons, but Sporting are holding firm on their €70 million upfront valuation, plus €10 million in bonuses.
