Two Nigerian names have been etched into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame history.

Fela Kuti and Sade Adu have both been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Fela Kuti is honoured under the Early Influence Award for creating Afrobeat and shaping the foundation of modern African and global music, while Sade is inducted in the Performer category for her signature minimalist blend of soul, jazz, and pop that has influenced contemporary global sound.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognises artists whose work has had a lasting impact on the evolution of popular music across generations. Other 2026 inductees include Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan, Queen Latifah, and Phil Collins.
