American boxer Floyd Mayweather is facing Floyd Mayweather fraud charges in Las Vegas over allegations involving theft and writing a bad check to purchase a luxury watch.
According to court records, Mayweather was charged in April with theft and passing a check without sufficient funds with intent to defraud. Prosecutors in Clark County allege that in December 2024, he issued a $200,000 check through Wells Fargo Bank to luxury resale store Gold and Beyond, despite not having enough money in his account.
The Floyd Mayweather fraud charges stem from this transaction, which reportedly led to felony accusations under Nevada law. His initial court appearance was scheduled in Las Vegas Justice Court, but he did not attend, sending an attorney to represent him instead. A hearing in the case has now been set for September.

He has also filed a separate lawsuit against his former business manager, accusing him of a long-running fraud scheme.
The Floyd Mayweather fraud charges add to a growing list of legal battles surrounding the retired boxing champion as proceedings continue in multiple states.
