Nigerian singer Alexander Adelabu, popularly known as Magixx, has opened up about the challenges he faces as a celebrity.
In a chat with Chude Jideonwo, the Mavin Records signee disclosed that his busy schedule as an artist and keeping up with public expectations put him under pressure.
He lamented that he couldn’t repeat the same clothes because of public expectations.
Magixx said, “There’s a path to every great person’s destiny. And in figuring out the path, I learned that you’ve got to go through this… I was dealing with public acceptance, family issues, accepting where I am at to improve myself, and still meeting public demands.
“It’s a whole lot. You’re still the songwriter, you’re still the person who’s going to show up for a video call, you’re still the person who’s going to pick your family’s call. You’re still the person who has a love interest, you’re still the person who’s going to fly out every weekend outside Lagos to perform for people. It’s a lot but people don’t even know. People don’t know that I can’t repeat the same clothes. For instance, this is the last time you will see the outfit I’m currently wearing on social media. I’ve to think about the clothes to wear every day. Normal people don’t think about those things.
“It’s a lot of pressure on artists but people from outside don’t see that.”
