U.S. President Joe Biden’s cabinet members have reportedly held crisis talks about him dropping out of the presidential race.
According to Bloomberg News, there have been ‘private discussions’ among unnamed cabinet members about ‘whether it’s now time’ for Biden’s closest advisors to address his diminishing chances of retaining the White House.
Biden’s team has reportedly debated whether his recent debate performances can still convince enough of the public that he could win a second term.
This concern comes after high-profile figure Sen. Jon Tester of Montana called for Biden to step down.
Democratic officials have suggested that if Biden were to withdraw, the party would likely rally around Vice President Kamala Harris to contest against Donald Trump in the presidential election.
