Kumawood actress and movie producer Bernice Asare has openly discussed the challenges in her marriage to a pastor, expressing regret over her decision to marry him.
In an interview with Zionfelix, she explained that what once seemed like an ideal relationship ultimately turned into one of the biggest mistakes of her life.
Bernice revealed that her husband’s deep commitment to his religious duties created significant tension in their marriage, leaving her feeling emotionally neglected. She shared examples of how he would prioritize ministering to others, including praying for prostitutes, over spending time with her, which made her feel isolated and deprived of emotional support.
Reflecting on the early stages of their relationship, Bernice described how her husband had comforted her during a time of emotional vulnerability following a previous heartbreak. His calm demeanor and use of Bible verses drew her in, leading to their eventual marriage. However, after they tied the knot, she struggled with feelings of loneliness, as her husband was often occupied with his pastoral duties.
“Marrying a pastor was the biggest mistake of my life,” she admitted, highlighting the emotional toll of being married to someone whose primary focus is his ministry.
