Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is attracting strong interest ahead of the summer transfer window, with Atlético Madrid reportedly joining the race for his signature.
Although the Nigerian international remains under contract with Atalanta until June 2027, he is expected to leave Bergamo this summer if the club’s €60 million asking price is met.
According to Spanish outlet Marca via Les-transferts, Atlético have begun talks with Lookman’s camp. While Diego Simeone’s side consider the price tag high, they remain keen on the 27-year-old following his standout season.
Lookman has been in excellent form, netting 18 goals and providing seven assists in 37 appearances this season. Since his permanent switch from RB Leipzig in 2022, he has tallied 50 goals and 22 assists in 110 matches for Atalanta.
Atlético face stiff competition, with several top Premier League clubs also reportedly monitoring the situation. Manchester United—under incoming manager Ruben Amorim—are believed to be exploring a move as part of a planned attacking revamp.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham, and Aston Villa are also said to be interested in bringing the Super Eagles star back to England, while Barcelona have shown interest but may struggle to meet the financial terms of the deal.
