Billboard crowns GloRilla as the hottest female rapper of 2024.

by Admin

GloRilla has been named the hottest female rapper of 2024 by Billboard, securing the top spot on their year-end list of women in rap.

The publication unveiled its top 10 rankings on Wednesday (December 4), with GloRilla leading the pack:

  1. GloRilla
  2. Megan Thee Stallion
  3. Nicki Minaj
  4. Sexyy Red
  5. Latto
  6. Doechii
  7. Doja Cat
  8. JT
  9. Rapsody
  10. Cardi B

Though GloRilla faced a sophomore slump in 2023, with tracks like “Cha Cha” (featuring Fivio Foreign) failing to match the success of “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and “Tomorrow 2,” she rebounded in 2024 with a vengeance. Her single “Yeah Glo!” broke into the top 30 on the Hot 100, re-establishing her dominance in the rap scene.

“Her resiliency shone through,” journalist Carl Lamarre wrote, “with follow-ups like the top 15 hit ‘Wanna Be’ featuring Megan Thee Stallion and the summer anthem ‘TGIF.’

Lamarre also highlighted her growing cultural impact, noting that both Rihanna and Taylor Swift praised her as rap’s newest “IT girl,” and even Kamala Harris reached out during her campaign to engage youth voters.

The pinnacle of her success came when GloRilla’s debut album GLORIOUS entered at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, with 69,000 album-equivalent units sold — the highest opening week for a female rapper in 2024 and double the sales of her spring mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang.
