‘Charge what you’re worth’ – Shallipopi advises artists

by Admin

Singer Shallipopi has urged fellow artists to charge based on their worth.

He shared this advice during a discussion on the controversy surrounding the high fees demanded by Nigerian artists.

In an interview with News Central TV, Shallipopi highlighted that an artist’s value is directly tied to the success and reach of their music.

He refuted claims that Nigerian artists have priced themselves out of the local market, stressing that those achieving similar streaming numbers as American artists should command comparable fees.

“It all depends on your music and how far it has reached—that’s what determines your price.

“If your music has gained the same streams as an American artist, you should charge accordingly. But if it hasn’t, you can’t overcharge,” he explained.
