Superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed he has played under some ‘clueless’ coaches during his illustrious career.
The Portugal legend has spent over two decades at the highest level, working with top managers like Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, and Carlo Ancelotti.
In a wide-ranging interview with Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, he appeared to take another swipe at former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo and Ten Hag clashed early in the Dutchman’s first season at Old Trafford after Ronaldo refused to come on as a late substitute against Tottenham. He later accused Ten Hag of lacking respect in a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, which ultimately led to his United contract being terminated in November 2022.
The former Real Madrid striker has also previously criticised Ralf Rangnick, who took over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on an interim basis before Ten Hag arrived.
Reflecting on the managers he has played for, Ronaldo admitted that some have been ‘really bad.’
“I learned from everyone. I had some really bad coaches,” Ronaldo told El Chiringuito. “Some of them don’t have a clue about football at all.”
