US President Trump will attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9, a White House official told NBC News.
The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles at 6:30 p.m. ET, marking the Chiefs’ third consecutive Super Bowl appearance.
By attending the game, Trump will become the first sitting U.S. president to attend a Super Bowl.
According to Axios, Trump is also set to appear on Fox News for an interview with Bret Baier. The interview, recorded at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, will air during the Fox pregame show at 3 p.m. ET.
Trump has made several football-related appearances in recent months. He delivered a virtual address at the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on January 20, just hours after his inauguration, and attended a Jets-Steelers game in Pittsburgh in October.
This marks the first time in three years that a U.S. president has agreed to a network interview for Super Bowl pregame coverage. President Joe Biden declined interviews with Fox News and CBS News in 2023 and 2024.
